Dr. Robert Spear
Dr. Robert Spear is a retired professor from Prince George's Community College, Maryland, with a half century of experience in higher education. He is a Democratic party activist, Treasurer of the Garrett County, Maryland, Democratic Central Committee, and a 2022 candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates. Also active in many non-partisan civic endeavors, he has authored two books of political commentary: 21st Century Common Sense: A Bold Reform Agenda for our Broken, Gridlocked, Dysfunctional, and Boring Politics (2018, 2019. and 2022); and his brand new Blooming Democracy (2025).

During his teaching career, Dr. Spear authored many textbooks and technical papers in computer programming, instructional technology, distance learning, and cybersecurity — along with essays on American democracy.
